The Journey To Recovery

JUST A FEW OF OUR SPONSORS

The Wood U? Project is a workshop & CoMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER which will provide a safe haven for youth to explore various PROGRAMS,  artful interests, work hard on a lacking educational component, become part of A community of people and learn how to create a "Life Plan" for a bright future.

WOOD U? Project.

Recovery workshop & community resource center

This program will offer students that have been placed on out of school suspension, at-risk youth that have dropped out of school, or those simply looking for a place to hang out absent the influences of illegal substance use, a constructive, educational and artful safe haven. This program will provide artful offerings... beginning with a refinishing wood furniture series and moving on to other artful programs our membership finds curious such as photography, video and film, painting etc.

It is our vision that this "project workshop" provide a safe haven & substance abuse prevention environment for mentoring youth.  There is a need for an educational supportive environment in order for members to stay on course with school assignments and as well, complete a GED program for those not having completed high school.  Additionally life coaching, financial responsibility and legal aide mentors will be available for members and their families.  Seminars, skills related training classes, resume building, volunteerism and corporate mentorship are all within the realm of inclusion. It is our intention to allow the program to evolve based on its members and their artful interests through wood restoration projects and other available art offerings.

The first of these programs IS located in Matawan, NJ, Monmouth County.  Once a successful model has been completed it is our intention to expand to other locations IN MONMOUTH, &  Middlesex  Counties as  all counties currently have increasing numbers of young people falling away from a proper education and falling prey to the increasing drug problems in epidemic proportion.  The co-founders of this organization understand that there is a critical need for an adolescent program that focuses on creativity, education and mentorship, a safe haven with strong community involvement.

BE A PART OF OUR SUCCESS

The WOOD U? Project will seek to engage, carpenters, artists, restoration experts and knowledgeable and professional and skilled volunteers that can benefit the programs mission.  WOOD U?  will produce a small amount of self-sustaining revenue once completely in place. Grants and donors, both individual and corporate are needed to provide funding for rent, insurance, and equipment in order to continue our efforts to build the most effective program.
